A confession

A confessional passage has probably never been written that didn’t stink a little bit of the writer’s pride in having given up his pride.

This quote is even funnier if you read the article in which it is quoted.
Probably bad for my Karma
This year was my wife’s maiden voyage in the world of music education–she’s teaching music at a catholic school. Part of what she does is introduce the kids to various musics of the world. When she got to the Indian sub-continent, for fun (I hope) she asked if she could play an old electronic music piece of mine, a collaboration with an Indian choreographer, Anjali Tata (since married). I guess it was a hit with the kids.
Originally we were both going to perform these Indian rhythms on the recording, but what it turned into was a comedic piece about my learning to perform these rhythms.
